The Challenge
Allied health web design — dietitians especially — has to solve for a sensitive first-touch moment. Many visitors are dealing with a health condition, body image concern, or eating disorder, and the site needs to feel safe and human before they'll pick up the phone or fill in a form. Dietitian website design that reads too clinical, too "diet culture," or too generic undermines exactly the trust the practitioner has built their reputation on.
There's also a credibility requirement specific to allied health: accreditation (APD status, specific clinical registrations) needs to be visible without turning the page into a wall of qualifications that buries the personal story.
Why This Structure Works
- Personal, first-person "Hi, I'm Tegan" framing used early — softens the clinical distance typical of health websites.
- Credentials (accredited practising dietitian, eating disorder clinician) placed clearly but briefly, not front-loaded ahead of the human introduction.
- Single, clear "Learn More" pathway into services — avoids overwhelming a visitor who may already feel overwhelmed by their health situation.
